The West Brom is the leading regional building society in the Black Country and Birmingham, and the 6th largest in the UK with nearly 540,000 members.
The Society is a major provider of financial products and services, notably savings, investments, prime residential mortgages, insurance protection, and financial planning.
The Society has an extensive network of branches across the Black Country and Birmingham, as well as an important presence in mid-Wales and Shropshire.
The Society was formed as a mutual organisation – owned and run for the benefit of its members – on St George’s Day in 1849 by 20 local citizens with the aim of helping people to better themselves through savings and the security of owning their own homes.
The Society remains proudly committed to this principle of mutuality. This also means contributing to the communities we serve, including supporting charities that do so much to help those in genuine need, such as the Society’s nominated charity – Acorns Children's Hospice – which provides care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.
