How can I open a new savings account?

You can open a new account online, by post or in one of our branches (these are mostly located in the West Midlands region).

  • To apply for a WeBSave account – applications for WeBSave accounts are completed online. The Society will check your identity electronically at the time of application. If this is unsuccessful we will ask you for further documentary evidence. This is done to comply with the provisions of any relevant legislation or codes of practice relating to anti money laundering activities and to protect you against the risk of identity fraud.
  • To apply by post – For most products, the application process can be started online via this website. The Society will check your identity electronically at the time of application. If this is unsuccessful we will ask you for further documentary evidence following your application. Once you have completed the application online you will need to print the application form, sign it and return it to us by post with your account opening cheque and identification documents if requested.
  • For branch accounts – call into your local branch, with appropriate identification documents. Subject to our normal checks we can open the account immediately. You can use our branch locator to find your nearest branch.

Please read our important information on ID leaflet

  • Not all accounts are available through all three channels. Use our savings finder to select the type of product you are interested in, and how you would like to operate it. We will then present a list of suitable products based on your requirements.
