West Brom joins up with Coventry on community programme with new initative

Coventry City Football Club and the West Bromwich Building Society have teamed up on a new initiative that's set to give a real lift to soccer-mad youngsters in the city - an inflatable 5-a-side pitch that can be erected and used in any locality.

This revolutionary new apparatus was unveilled at Parkgate School, Parkgate Road, Holbrook in Coventry when Sky Blues star, Matt Heath, joined Denise Bird of the West Brom and local youngsters to launch the initiative.

The West Bromwich Building Society has recently linked up with Coventry City on the Sky Blues Saver Account and is furthering their relationship with the club by sponsoring the Sky Blues Community Programme, including this exciting 5-a-side initiative.

Co-ordinated by former Sky Blues star, David Busst, the Community Programme has an extensive range of activities for children and young people, both male and female. This includes coaching and matches as part of holiday schemes and after-school projects. Significantly, the Community Programme encourages the participation of youngsters from some of the more deprived neighbourhoods in Coventry where social disadvantage can deny them genuine opportunities for meaningful leisure.

In the opinion of David Busst, the partnership with the West Brom is set to be a real winner. As he says: "The West Bromwich Building Society has a great reputation for supporting the development of young people by using football as a way of nurturing their potential and imagination. Their support for the Community Programme, which benefits over a 1,000 children, is a mark of the West Broms commitment to the club and the citys young people. This new and imaginative inflatable football pitch will help us to reach even more young people."
