Hope House Boosted by West Brom’s Donation

Staff at the Society’s Oswestry branch get behind their local children’s hospice.

Hope House Donation

Staff at an Oswestry building society have presented nearly £900 to Hope House Children’s Hospice to show their support for the charity.

Part of the donation was funded through the West Brom’s Community Counts scheme, where local causes chosen by branch staff and customers are awarded grants of up to £500 to support their work in the community.

The remainder was raised during special Hope House coffee mornings where West Brom customers in Shropshire and mid Wales enjoyed drinks and homemade cakes in return for donations.

Gill Kendall, manager of the branch on Church Street, Oswestry, said:

“Hope House is renowned for its care and support for life-limited children and their families. We are delighted to be able to help such a worthy cause in our local community.”

Lynsey Kilvert, area fundraiser for Hope House, added: “From everyone at Hope House I’d like to say a huge thank you to the staff and customers of the West Brom. Their support is greatly appreciated.”

Hope House provides specialist nursing care and support to life-limited children, young people and young adults from Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales. In addition to its hospices in Oswestry and Conwy, the charity offers home nursing and counselling services.
