Fundraising

Our colleagues are passionate about fundraising and get actively involved in various activities and events every year to raise money for a nominated charity. The latest Charity Partner we've proudly teamed up with is Barnardo's.

Barnardo's charity partner fundraising

We’ve partnered with Barnardo’s to support their mission to provide accommodation for vulnerable young people leaving the care system.

Leaving home is a challenge for everyone, but young people leaving care often do so without the support of a loving family. The subject of accommodation plays a crucial part in the successful transition out of care, with many outcomes dependant on care leavers being able to access appropriate and sustainable options.

Over the next two years, we’re looking to raise £500,000 to fund the development of four ‘Gap Homes’ for young vulnerable people leaving the care system in the Black Country area. Working with Sandwell Council, we will identify an unused plot of land where we can build the energy-efficient, easy to maintain homes from the ground up that will be occupied by care leavers in the area. These can be used for short periods, or for up 2 years depending on the individual’s circumstances. Discussions with Sandwell Council have already started in order to identify a site for the location of the homes which will be in the heart of our community.

As well as this, we will be providing additional support such as financial education, internships and work placements for the individuals that will be using the new homes, and other Barnardo’s service users across the region, to help provide the tools and experience they need to succeed in later life.

Together with Barnardo’s we can change the landscape of safe housing for vulnerable young people, now and for the future.

Other charities we've helped

We've supported a number of other regional charities over the years including Edward’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kaleidoscope Plus Group, Black Country Women’s Aid and, more recently, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity where we raised over £34,000 for this vital lifesaving service.
