Supporting the community is integral to the West Brom and this comes across powerfully in the commitment and compassion shown by our colleagues in raising money each year for the Society’s chosen charity.
This year, the West Brom is proud to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as our chosen charity. Serving the communities of the West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire, the charity is one of the busiest air ambulance services in the UK, averaging 2,000 missions annually in responding to emergencies involving a potential fatality or major trauma injury.
With three air ambulance helicopters, all possessing full life-support medical equipment, the service can reach a specialist hospital from anywhere in the region in less than 15 minutes – an astonishing and often life-saving achievement.
In previous years, the West Brom has supported a number of regional charities such as Edward’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kaleidoscope Plus Group and, more recently, Black Country Women’s Aid where we raised some £30,000 which reflects our people’s compassion and commitment to those in need.
