Giving time is often just as important as giving money and our people are always willing to help. West Brom colleagues are encouraged to participate in a variety of volunteering sessions with local community organisations.
The business invites every member of staff to spend up to two working days per year carrying out voluntary work and hundreds have taken the opportunity to do so.
For example, a group of volunteers swapped their suits for shovels at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. They spent a day maintaining the hospital’s Community Orchard, which provides an attractive and tranquil outside space for the use of patients and visitors alike.
Our branch managers are also supporting the next generation of savers by spending time in local schools delivering money management workshops for the pupils. This offers useful insight into the real value of money, while also signalling the potential dangers of excessive debt.
