The West Brom’s Chair awarded MBE for Services to Young People

John Maltby, Chair of the West Brom, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for Services to Young People.

Alongside a successful career in financial services, John was on the Board of Trustees at National Citizens Service (NCS) Trust, a not-for-profit organisation founded to help young people achieve their potential and build bridges between communities.

John served on the Board of Trustees for over four years, including during the period where the organisation gained its Royal Charter and became recognised as a national institution. To date, over 600,000 young people have been helped by the Trust.

John Maltby said: “It’s a privilege to have been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list this year. I’ve always had a passion for helping in the community and it was a pleasure to be able to support NCS Trust to build bridges in communities, enable social mobility and engage young people in social action.”

John joined the West Brom’s Board in 2021 before becoming Chair in the same year. He is also currently Chair of Allica Bank, Chair of Max Nicholas Renewables and Non-Executive Director of Nordea.
