West Brom Building Society reinforces support for customers through the Mortgage Charter
West Brom Building Society remains committed to the Government’s Mortgage Charter at a time when many consumers are looking for clarity and reassurance in a challenging market environment.
As one of the first 35 lenders to sign the Charter on the day it was introduced in 2023, the Society continues to stand firmly behind its principles and the practical help it offers. The Mortgage Charter sets out clear commitments for mortgage customers who may be feeling the pressure of rising costs and challenging economic conditions.
This includes practical steps such as switching to interest‑only payments for six months, extending the mortgage term with the ability to move back within six months, securing a new deal ahead of a current rate ending, and strengthened protections that prevent customers from losing their homes.
Jonathan Westhoff, Chief Executive, at West Brom Building Society, said: “We understand that the recent changes in market conditions are creating worry for many people. The Mortgage Charter provides an additional valuable layer of security for customers, but our focus has always been simple, to be here when our customers need us.
“We’re constantly reviewing the support we offer, and our experienced teams are ready to talk through tailored options that can help ease the pressure. I’d encourage any of our customers who may be struggling or are worried about their mortgage to get in touch as soon as possible. Reaching out won’t affect your credit score and the sooner we speak, the sooner we can help.”
Customers seeking support or advice can contact West Brom Building Society on 0345 241 3785, Monday to Friday 8:30am–6:00pm, and Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm.
