People in Powys can learn more about managing their money in retirement next week at an open day all about pensions.
The West Brom is hosting the event at its branch on Broad Street in Newtown on Wednesday, 14 June from 10.30am until 7pm.
Independent financial advisers from the Society’s partner Wren Sterling will be on hand to help unravel some of the mysteries behind pensions, financial planning and investments.
Tricia Jones, manager of the West Brom in Newtown, hopes the open day will make understanding pensions a little less daunting.
She said: “We recognise that, for some people, long term financial security can be a significant worry. Our aim is to give them the chance to ease their concerns through expert guidance with no pressure or obligation to invest.
“It’s never too early to start planning for retirement so we believe that this event will prove useful for people of all ages.”
There is no cost to attend the open day, advanced bookings aren’t needed and visitors don’t have to be a current West Brom customer. Some fees or charges may apply if people progress any action with Wren Sterling.
Tricia added: “The advisers from Wren Sterling have considerable knowledge and offer fully independent advice. This means they are not tied to any particular product provider and can make recommendations that are tailored to a customer’s specific needs.”
The West Brom is the seventh largest building society in the UK with 446,000 members and has operated a branch in Newtown since 1971.
Information on the Society’s other products and services, including savings, mortgages and insurance, will also be available during the event.
