Christmas came early at branches of the West Brom as they hosted seasonal cake and coffee days in aid of charity.

More than £4,000 was raised for Teenage Cancer Trust as branch colleagues invited customers to join them for a slice of cake and a cup of tea or coffee in exchange for a donation.

The 'Tuck in for Teenage Cancer Trust' events were the latest to be held in support of the Society's nominated charity. Around £25,000 has been collected since the partnership began eight months ago.

Jim King, the West Brom's Communications Manager, said: “Our annual Christmas cake and coffee day is always extremely popular and a fantastic fundraiser – and Tuck in for Teenage Cancer Trust was no exception.

“We had staff dressed in Christmas jumpers across our branch network, a tasty selection of homemade treats and everyone got in the festive spirit to raise a fantastic sum of money.

“A huge thank you goes to all our customers for supporting events in their local branches and digging deep for such a worthwhile cause.”

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24.

Emily Henderson, Regional Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “It was a brilliant event staged by the West Brom and heart-warming to see so many people joining in and donating money.

“We are extremely grateful for everyone's support and it will really make a huge difference to the work we do. Teenage Cancer Trust relies entirely on donations to fund our work and right now for every young person with cancer that we can help there is another that we can't.

“Our aim is to be able to help every young person with cancer and ensure nobody faces this dreadful illness alone.”
