Every day we work hard to deliver the best service and products for our new and existing members, and we put them at the heart of everything we do. Our Values are the foundation on which all our business practices are built, as we make every effort to make a positive difference to all our members and wider society.

Current vacancies

"Our Values have helped us build a thriving and purpose-led business. We put the interests of our members centre stage every day and, as a mutual building society, our values are absolutely key in guiding us in what we do and how we work together to achieve this. We have a set of six values which, taken together, explain how we go about this commitment and what it means to be part of the team here at the West Brom."

We strive to make a difference and to do the best for our customers.

What this looks like

We are passionate about mutuality and what it means for the Society and our customers. We make a positive impact, taking an interest in people and things, have a point of view and contribute. We look for ways to improve things, bring new insights, ideas and enthusiasm and find sustainable options to create something better. We are flexible and willing to try different approaches to get the best results. We value what we do.

Be Real

Care

What this means to us

We do right by our stakeholders, whether customers, colleagues, suppliers or the wider community.

What this looks like

We care about people and in things. We are active in local communities and support those who are vulnerable. We support our own and others’ wellbeing. We treat others as we would want to be treated, with respect, consideration and always with inclusivity in mind. We care about our own and others’ behaviour, outputs and quality. We say thank-you and give praise when others excel as well as providing constructive feedback when appropriate.

Do It Today

What this means to us

We do what we say we will do, proactively, efficiently, and with thought to what is delivered.

What this looks like

We meet deadlines and expect others to do the same. We are resourceful, willing and able to work independently or within a team to deliver against goals and targets. We are mindful of the need to manage resources sustainably and to minimise waste, and always look for ways to reduce our own and the Society’s impact on its environment.

Own It

What this means to us

We take responsibility for delivering to the highest standards in all that we do.

What this looks like

We own what we do, are accountable and use judgement and discretion to make effective decisions. We are professional and flexible with the drive and determination to deliver to the highest standard first time around. We always look for ways to deliver the right outcome for the customer. We are aware of the importance of risk, work within our boundaries yet are willing to challenge where solutions and actions no longer add value.
