West Brom Building Society hosts Annual General Meeting at Black Country Living Museum

Members of West Brom Building Society met on 22 July 2026 for the Society’s 177th Annual General Meeting, held at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley.

The AGM follows another strong year for the Society, which completed over £1bn in new homeownership lending and continued to invest in customer services, its branch network and digital transformation.

Members received an update on the Society’s performance during the year ended 31 March 2026 and approved the Annual Report and Accounts. The Board of Directors were re-elected, with the appointment of two new directors. Members also re-appointed the Society’s external auditors, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Chair of West Brom Building Society, John Maltby, said: “As a mutual, our members are at the heart of every decision we make, and the AGM is an important opportunity for members to have their say on the Society’s future.

“We’re proud to remain true to the purpose that has guided the Society for generations – helping people achieve homeownership and rewarding those who save with us. The strength of our performance this year means we’re able to continue investing for the future while delivering real value for our members.

“I’d also like to thank those directors who have completed their terms on the Board for their commitment and contribution and welcome our new directors as we continue to evolve and strengthen the Society for the years ahead.”

Jonathan Westhoff, Chief Executive of West Brom Building Society, added: “This year’s performance demonstrates the strength of our mutual model and the benefits it delivers for members.

“We’ve continued to support thousands of people into homeownership, welcomed more savers to the Society and maintained the financial strength that means we can continue to invest in our future.

"So, while we’re pleased with this progress, we’re focused on what comes next. That means we will continue investing in our, technology, people and communities to ensure that we can meet the changing needs of members and help even more people achieve their financial goals.”
