Add or remove an account holder from your account
Once you've opened a sole account, you can send us a request to add another account holder and make it a joint account.
To add or remove an account holder to your savings account, you'll need to complete an 'Add/delete an account holder form' and post it to the address on the form.
You can choose who can operate the account - either both of you, or just one person.
Not all savings accounts can be held jointly. For example, ISAs can only be held by one person as a sole account holder.
You should check the terms and conditions of your account to make sure joint accounts are allowed, before you send us your request.
Identification documents we'll need to see
If you're adding an account holder, we may also ask for proof of identity. This helps us confirm who the new account holder is, and complies with Money Laundering Regulations.
To find out more about the documents you may need to provide, take a look at our 'Important information on Identification' leaflet.
