Jonathan has spent over 40 years in financial services, mainly in the building society sector. He served as Finance Director at two building societies before joining the West Brom Board, initially as Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in May 2011. Jonathan is also a past Chair of the Building Societies Association and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Livv Housing Group. He’s Chair of the Executive Committee and Employee Council and is a member of the Assets & Liabilities and Executive Risk Committees.

Martin’s an experienced change and operations leader with extensive retail banking expertise, most recently as Chief Transformation Officer at Metro Bank Plc, where he sat on the Group Executive Committee. He’s also held senior roles at Nationwide and Portman building societies, Visa Europe and Accenture. Martin has a wealth of experience leading transformation and managing large-scale operations. He’s responsible for modernising and digitising our infrastructure and operations to better serve our current and future customers. He’s a member of the Executive and Executive Risk Committees.

Manjit joined us in 2006. Before this, he was at the Britannia Building Society for five years. In total he has over 30 years of financial services experience, having started his career at NatWest Mortgage Services, and in risk related roles since 1993. He’s Chair of the Executive Risk Committee and is a member of the Executive and Assets & Liabilities Committees.

Alex joined our Board having been promoted to Chief Financial Officer after spending the preceding six years in different roles in the Society’s Treasury and Finance team. Prior to joining the West Brom, he spent over a decade working for Deloitte, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and specialised in the financial services sector. He’s Chair of the Assets & Liabilities Committee and is a member of the Executive and Executive Risk Committees.

Sophie began her career in professional services as an Internal Auditor where she qualified as Chartered Accountant. It was as a Senior Internal Auditor that Sophie joined the Society in 2010. In the subsequent decade she held positions across the Society, notably in Strategy and Secretariat where she gained her Chartered Company Secretary qualification and was instrumental in establishing the Society’s strategy with the Executive and Board for 6 years, before being appointed to DD HR to take forward her passion for establishing and leading an engaging people strategy.

Sarah’s a qualified Chartered Internal Auditor and joined the Society as an Internal Auditor in 2013. Sarah progressed to the role of Internal Audit Manager in 2015 and Chief Internal Auditor in 2025. Prior to this Sarah worked within Internal Audit in professional services and latterly in the retail sector. Sarah’s a member of the Executive Committee and Executive Risk Committee.

Wayne began his career with Yorkshire Bank, joining the Society in 2001 as a Branch Manager and has over 35 years of financial services experience, with the last 22 years in Risk & Compliance roles. Since 2018, he has led the Society’s Compliance, Financial Crime and Data Protection teams with Senior Manager Function (SMF) holder responsibilities since 2021. Wayne is a member of the Executive and the Executive Risk Committees.

Gareth joined the Society in 2014 and has gained a wealth of experience through roles across our branch network, mortgage distribution, strategy, product and digital. In May 2026 Gareth stepped into the role of Chief Customer Officer and is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Society’s end to end customer proposition within the region and beyond. In his role Gareth chair’s, the Society’s Product Consideration Group, Customer Conduct and Risk Review Group and Member Council and is a member of the Executive and Executive Risk Committee. Gareth is from the West Midlands and is a champion for the Society’s regional heritage and role within local communities.

Ramona joined the Society in 2024 as the Chief Transformation Officer, responsible for delivery of the Digital Transformation Programme and other Change Projects across the Society. She has spent her career working in technology delivery both in financial services and professional services companies.

Darren joined the Society in 2024 as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the IT teams through a period of significant change and transformation. His responsibilities include all aspects of IT service, IT infrastructure and Operational Resilience. Prior to joining West Brom Building Society, Darren spent nearly 30 years at Nationwide Building Society. Most recent roles include the CIO for Retail Services leading the IT functions to support the Retail functions of the society (Branch network, Contact Centres and Financial Crime) and the Head of the Enterprise Command Centre with accountability for all aspects of technology service to support the wider society. Darren completed a degree in Financial Services and subsequently completed a Diploma in Management. He is a member of the Executive and Executive Risk Committees.

Adele joined the Society in 2002 where she started her career within the Branch Network taking on several different roles including leading the Operational Learning and Development Team. Adele has also taken an active lead of the delivery of Consumer Duty and supporting customers in vulnerable situations. More recently, Adele has taken up the leadership of the Customer Operations division focused on, delivery of originations and servicing of savings and mortgage accounts.

Gurvinder Glenholme has more than 20 years of experience in the UK financial services sector. Prior to joining the Society as Head of Strategy in November 2023, she spent 17 years at Nationwide Building Society, holding a range of leadership roles across Financial Management, Retail & Distribution, Group Operations, Strategic and Corporate Development, and Strategic Foresight. As a member of the West Brom’s Executive Committee, Gurvinder plays a key role in shaping the Society’s strategic direction. She holds an Executive MBA, is ACMA qualified, serves as a Trustee of the West Brom Foundation, and co-chairs the Society’s Women’s Inclusive Network.

David is a qualified treasury professional who has built a career at the Society since joining in 2010, having progressed through several strategic and leadership roles. Serving as Treasurer since 2019, he’s responsible for managing the Society’s liquidity and funding. David is a member of the Executive and Assets & Liabilities Committees, and Society appointed Trustee of the Staff Retirement Scheme.
