West Brom Building Society named in Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025
West Brom Building Society has been named as one of the UK’s best ‘big’ organisations to work for, after gaining a place in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025 list.
The nationwide colleague survey, which has been running for over 20 years, recognises organisations that are champions of employee experience and wellbeing.
By gaining a place in the list, the Society’s commitment to an inclusive and people centric workplace has been acknowledged, including its focus on career development and celebrating the hard work of its colleagues.
Achievements, such as becoming the first building society and West Midlands employer to gain all three Living Wage Foundation accreditations: the Real Living Wage, Living Hours, and Living Pension were highlighted, with this milestone helping to create a workplace where colleagues feel appreciated and secure.
The West Brom also retained their status of being a Disability Confident Leader and joined the Ban the Box campaign, an initiative that allows ex-offenders apply for a position at the Society without declaring previous convictions. These initiatives have helped create a more inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
Colleagues who took part in the workplace survey were also asked about work life balance, with the Society being an advocate for flexible ways of working, with over four out five colleagues saying they worked this way. Other noteworthy perks include access to private health services and the pensions plus scheme.
Sophie Pazzaglia, Chief People Officer at West Brom Building Society said: “We’re delighted to be named in the Sunday Times Best places to work survey 2025. This is means so much to us as it’s feedback from our own colleagues.
“We’ve been helping our members for 176 years and our colleagues play such an important part in this journey. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we’re so proud that our colleagues recognise us a best place to work. We work hard to do right by our colleagues and it’s great to see that we’re achieving this. We’ll continue to invest even more in our people-focused practices and colleague initiatives.”
