The West Brom has received a coveted award for the way it develops and supports its workforce.
The leading regional building society has achieved the Investors in People Gold Award, which is seen as a measure of a quality and responsible employer. The West Brom joins the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK.
Investors in People said the West Brom had shown a “proactive and innovative approach to organisational development” in order to create a “high performing culture through its people”.
The organisation also praised the building society’s Inspire awards scheme, which rewards outstanding staff performance across the business, and its management development programme Evolve, which provides a “structured approach” to education.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate the West Brom on their Gold standard.
“Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice. It demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be. The West Brom should be extremely proud of their achievement.”
West Brom senior management were also commended by Investors in People for supporting and encouraging staff.
Chief Executive Jonathan Westhoff said: “The Society was pleased to receive Investors in People Silver status in 2012, but we always believed that the Gold award was within our reach.
“We take enormous pride in this accolade as very few organisations gain such a coveted award from a leading independent authority. It recognises the ways we support our people to make the most of their potential and we will endeavour to remain at this standard for years to come.”
