It isn’t just Santa’s little helpers who have been busy in the build up to Christmas.
At the West Brom, kind-hearted volunteers are taking valuable time away from their offices and branches and helping to decorate local community facilities.
More than 20 colleagues joined in with the festive fun. Armed with an array of dazzling decorations, they called in on wards at Sandwell District General Hospital in West Bromwich and Birmingham Women’s Hospital in Edgbaston.
Another team headed to Queen Alexandra College, an educational centre in Harborne for young people with disabilities. Here they decorated communal areas including the college’s café and prepared Christmas trees ready to be sold to the public to assist with fundraising.
The West Brom’s Communications Manager Jim King said: “It is important for the Society to offer support to the local community and volunteering is also a very rewarding experience for our colleagues to participate in.
“Our community engagement programme is active all year round, but at Christmas we’re especially keen to reach out and offer assistance to those who need it.”
