Whatever your age, making plans to manage financial affairs in retirement should be given regular and serious consideration.
Whether it be getting to grips with your existing pension policies or understanding the investment opportunities available, it is likely many people will have unanswered questions and concerns as to how their financial future will look once their working career has ended.
With this in mind, the West Brom is offering people a chance to access professional advice by hosting pension roadshows at its Great Barr and Walsall branches on 27 April and 28 April respectively from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
Designed to be informal as well as educational, each event is supported by an Independent Financial Adviser from Wren Sterling, who will help unravel some of the mysteries behind pensions, financial planning and investments. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.
There is no cost to attend, advanced bookings are not necessary and you don’t have to be an existing West Brom customer. Some fees or charges may apply if action is taken after the initial review with Wren Sterling’s adviser.
Fiona McTeigue, Retail Manager for the West Brom, hopes the open days will make understanding pensions a little less daunting.
She said: “We recognise that, for some people, long-term financial security can be a significant worry. Our aim is to give them the chance to ease their concerns through expert guidance and with no pressure or obligation to invest.
“All the Wren Sterling representatives have considerable knowledge and experience around investments and financial planning so this is certainly an opportunity worth taking up.”
Established in 1849, the West Brom is the seventh largest building society in the UK with 446,000 members and 37 branches. Information on the Society’s other products and services, including savings, mortgages and insurance, will also be available during the open days.
Fiona added: “It’s never too early to start planning for retirement, so we believe these events will prove useful to people of all ages.
“Better still, the advisers from Wren Sterling offer fully independent advice. They are not tied to any particular product provider and can therefore make recommendations that are tailored to a customer’s specific needs.”
