What happens when the interest rate changes on my variable rate savings account?

If the interest rate on your savings account is variable, this means it can go up or down at any time.

When the interest rate on your account increases, you will find details of your new rate on our website and in our branches.

When the interest rate on your account falls, and you have £100 or more in your account, we will personally notify you of the change. If you have less than £100 in your account, we will not send you a personal notification, however you will find details of your new rate on our website and in our branches.

For details about why we may change the interest rate, as well as how and when we’ll let you know, please refer to sections 5d) and 5e) of our General Terms and Conditions (which can be found on our website or copies are available in our branches).

We recommend you check your interest rates regularly as they may change from time to time, including the period since the date of your last statement.
